On February 4th 2014, Rev. Patrick Boll was on a business trip four hours north of Sioux Falls, in Minneapolis. He received a phone call from a young women who we shall call ‘Dawn’ who stated that she was trying to get off drugs and had no place to go, no money, and no food or shelter. In the conversation with Dawn, she made comments that she was considering selling herself so she could buy food and a place to stay in Sioux Falls.
Feeling frustrated that a woman reached out for help and he was not able to do anything, Patrick began to dream about a place of refuge. A place where women, whether in desperate need like Dawn, or just needing a little guidance, could go and be safe, be clothed, and be fed. Most importantly they could be given the resources to understand that they have a purpose in this life. That God has a plan for them, and it is good and they can have a life transformed into something that is beautiful.
